Slow cooker hot honey sriracha chicken is just plain amazing! Tender, juicy shredded chicken that is cooked in a sweet, spicy, and altogether lip-smacking sauce that you will want to put on EVERYTHING!
Every once in a while you come across a dish that really makes you sit up and say WOW! This is that dish! Even if you are not a fan of spicy food (me 🙋♀️), this slow cooker chicken dish will win you over.
The sweet, savory, tangy flavors will please everyone. While it does have a little kick, this delicious meal is not at all overpowered by hot sauce.

🔪Instructions
Spray your slow cooker with a non-stick cooking spray. Add all sauce ingredients into slow cooker and stir to fully combine. Add chicken into slow cooker and make sure it is as fully immersed in the sauce as possible.
Place lid on slow cooker and cook on low for 3-5 hours. Your chicken will be ready for the next step once it reaches an internal temperature of 165℉.
Remove cooked chicken from crock pot and shred. Return shredded chicken to your slow cooker and mix into sauce. Season with salt and pepper if desired and serve!
🍽Serving suggestions
IMHO, the best way to serve this slow cooker honey sriracha chicken recipe is on your favorite bun. It is great topped with a little bit of something crunchy such as pickles or cabbage slaw. And of course your favorite sides (I'll take fries with mine!)
The extra sauce from the slow cooker is great for dipping your sandwiches into!
If you plan to make chicken sliders, it is easiest to keep slider buns attached to each other. Slice them all in half vertically at the same time. Place chicken and your favorite toppings on the bottom half and cover with the top. Then break into individual sliders.
Not interested in slow cooker hot honey chicken sandwiches? Serve this easy recipe over brown rice, cauliflower rice or mashed cauliflower to catch all the delicious hot honey sauce.
It is also delicious served in a lettuce cup! I like to top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds when serving this way.
Both garlic parmesan mushrooms and dijon cauliflower make a perfect combination. As do french fries or a big baked potato.
If you are a fan of heat, drizzle with additional sriracha when serving this slow cooker recipe.
🔁Substitutions
- If you prefer, boneless skinless chicken thighs can be used in place of breasts. Dark meat is more forgiving of longer cooking times. This makes it a good option if your chicken will need to sit in the crockpot for a longer cook time.
- This recipe calls for 2 fresh garlic cloves (minced or pressed). You can use ยฝ tablespoon jarred, minced garlic or about ยฝ teaspoon garlic powder instead.

😉Hints & hacks
- All slow cookers are different and may have a slightly different cooking time. The first time you make this use a meat thermometer to see how long the chicken takes to reach 165℉. This will make your timing easier to gauge the next time you make it.
- Leftovers of this slow cooker chicken recipe can be stored in individual serving-sized containers for easy grab-and-go, next day meals.
- This is one of the best slow cooker recipes to use with a slow cooker liner. If you use a liner, you can skip spraying your slow cooker with non-stick spray.
- In the market for a slow cooker? I love mine!
- This is a great dish to meal prep the night before. Just add all ingredients to a bag or bowl and refrigerate until ready to cook.
