Ingredients

  • 16 oz can refried beans
  • 8 oz whipped cream cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 7 oz can diced green chilies
  • 3 tablespoon taco seasoning see above for homemade recipe
  • 4 cups shredded cheese Mexican blend, montery jack, pepper jack and cheddar are all good choices
  • fresh cilantro optional garnish
  • sliced jalapenos optional garnish
  • chips for serving

Instructions

  • To a grease slow cooker, add 16 oz can refried beans, 8 oz whipped cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, 1 cup salsa, 7 oz can diced green chilies, 3 tablespoon taco seasoning, and 3 cups shredded cheese and stir to combine
  • Top with remaining cup of shredded cheese
  • Cover and cook on high for 2 hours or low for 4.
  • When dip is gooey and warm all the way through add any garnish such as fresh cilantro, sliced jalapenos, olives, and extra sour cream
  • Serve with chips, pretzels, and veggie sticks for dipping

Notes

To dial up the spice, use diced jalapeno in place of diced chili peppers and a hot salsa.
