Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2-4 cups fresh mint leaves washed and removed from stems

Instructions

  • place 2-4 cups fresh mint leaves in to a greased slow cooker
  • use your hands or a muddler to mash up the leaves a bit
  • add 2 cups water and 2 cups granulated sugar to slow cooker and stir to combine
  • cook on high for 2-3 allowing the mint flavor to steep into the sugar water
  • turn off heat and cool mixture
  • strain mint syrup to remove leaves and store in an airtight container or bottle

Mint simple syrup will last about one month in an airtight jar in the refrigerator.
