Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe

Sweet and savory honey garlic chicken is a dump-and-go favorite. Made with honey, garlic, and soy sauce, this delicious and simple recipe is a perfect weeknight win.

Equipment

  • 3.5 or larger slow cooker
  • measuring cups or spoons
  • parchment paper (optional) optional if you want to steam a veggie to go along with it

Ingredients

  • 1.5 - 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken Breasts or thighs
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • cup honey
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoon garlic grated, or paste
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • sesame seeds optional garnish
  • 1 head cauliflower optional - cut into florets
  • 2 teaspoon garlic salt optional - for cauliflower

Instructions

Chicken

  • Place 1.5 - 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken into a greased slow cooker
  • Add in 6 oz tomato paste, ⅔ cup honey, ½ cup soy sauce, 3 tablespoon garlic, and ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • Stir well to make sure all ingredients are mixed and chicken pieces are well covered by sauce

Optional Cauliflower Side Veggie

  • Cover chicken with parchment paper
  • Add 1 head cauliflower florets on top of parchment paper and sprinkle with 2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-6
  • for breasts: after three hours, remove breasts and slice or cut into chunks. thighs will stay more moist and can served as one piece if you prefer.
  • Chicken is ready to serve when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F,
  • Remove cauliflower and set aside.
  • Remove chicken from sauce and cut into bite-sized chunks or shred. Then stir back into sauce
  • Optional: sprinkle chicken with sesame seeds sesame seeds just prior to serving. Serve alongside cauliflower and enjoy!

Notes

Note: for more moist chicken, use thighs in  place of breasts
Potatoes or carrots can be cut into small chunks and used in place of cauliflower based on your preference.
