Slow Cooker Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes

This delicious and easy sloppy Joe recipe combines all the flavors you love from a Philly cheesesteak with the ease of a slow-cooked ground beef recipe. It is a simple and delicious dish that will quickly become a family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 - 2 lbs ground beef browned
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 14 oz can mushroom pieces
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1.5 - 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded. Or any blend that includes mozzarella. I use a pizza blend of mozzarella and parmesan.

Instructions

  • brown 1.5 - 2 lbs ground beef * and add to greased slow cooker
  • add in 1 medium onion, 14 oz can mushroom, 1 tablespoon garlic, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper and stir to combine
  • cover and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours
  • Just before serving, stir in 1.5 - 2 cups mozzarella cheese until fully melted
  • serve promptly

Notes

NOTES: 
  • Nutritional facts are based on dish cooked in slow cooker only.  Rolls have not been included
  • Ground beef can be browned in a skillet on the stove top, in a slow cooker with a brown/saute feature, or in a traditional slow cooker.  
  • You can skip browning the ground beef first by using a 96% lean ground beef.  If you choose this option, add beef directly to slow cooker along with other ingredients.
