Slow Cooker Warm Olive Appetizer

This Slow Cooker Warm Olive appetizer is a simple yet sophisticated dish. Briny olives are gently heated in aromatic herbs and spices making them fully irresistible!

Equipment

  • slow cooker 4 quarts or smaller
  • measuring cup
  • zester
  • mixing spoons

Ingredients

  • 4 cups olives* I use kalamata, manzanilla and castelvetrano
  • ½ cup olive oil extra virgin is my favorite here
  • 6 garlic cloves raw, peeled
  • 1 sprig fresh thyme
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1 orange zest or peel

Instructions

  • add ½ cup olive oil to your slow cooker. brush it up the sides a bit to made for easier cleanup later on
  • add 4 cups olives* and 6 garlic cloves to oil and stir to fully coat
  • add1 orange zest or peel. This can be stirred in or left on top if you prefer to remove it later
  • place 1 sprig fresh thyme and 2 sprigs fresh rosemary on top of olive mixture.
  • cover and cook on low for 2-2½ hours.
  • Turn to warm and serve directly from slow cooker

Notes

*Olives can be pitted or with pits.  I use pitted, but both are delicious!
