Slow Cooker Leftover Turkey Chili

- 1-2 lbs cooked turkey shredded
- 2 -14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes with onions and garlic, if available
- 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 15 oz can black beans
- 15 oz can kidney beans
- 1 cup frozen corn
- 4 oz can diced chili peppers
- ½ cup chili seasoning homemade or packets
- 1 green bell pepper chopped
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Homemade Chili Seasoning
- 4 tablespoon hatch chili powder
- 1½ tablespoon cumin
- 1½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground ground cilantro
shred 1-2 lbs cooked turkey prior to use. I find that using a blender to lightly blend is easiest
add 1-2 lbs cooked turkey, 15 oz can tomato sauce, 15 oz can black beans, 2 -14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes, 15 oz can kidney beans, 1 cup frozen corn, 4 oz can diced chili peppers, ½ cup chili seasoning, 1 green bell pepper, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste
cook on low for 6-8 hours (or high for 3-4 hours)
top with shredded cheese, if desired and enjoy!
This recipe is for a mild chili. For a spicier chili, use hot green chilies, additional chili powder, and/or additional cayenne pepper.
