Slow Cooker Cottage Cheese Queso Recipe

This simple slow cooker queso dip is creamy, protein packed, irresistibly cheesy, and delicious. All without any Velveeta! Perfect for game day, parties, movie night or anytime snacking!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whipped cottage cheese You can buy it whipped or use an immersion blender
  • 7 oz can Chopped green chiles
  • 4-6 oz pepper Jack cheese shredded or thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup Taco seasoning homemade or packaged. See notes for homemade recipe.

Instructions

  • Add 2 cups Whipped cottage cheese, 7 oz can Chopped green chiles, 4-6 oz pepper Jack cheese, ¼ cup Taco seasoning ,
  • Stir to fully combine
  • Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or high for 1½ - 2 hours
  • Stir and top with chopped green onion (optional). Serve with tortilla chips

Notes

I use full-fat cottage cheese for this recipe.  It comes out creamy and delicious.
I like to buy Jumbo containers of cottage and use an immersion blender to whip it right in the container.  Less dishes to wash and I always have creamy and delicious whipped cottage cheese on hand!   

Taco Seasoning Recipe

Note: this makes more seasoning than you will need for this recipe
  • 4 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1.5 tablespoons cumin
  • 1.5 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried cilantro
  • optional (if you like it hot): 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
Add all ingredients and stir. Store in a cool, dry, air-tight container.
