- ½ head cabbage sliced
- 1-1½ lbs sausage links sliced
- ⅔ cup barley
- 1 10 oz can diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 tablespoon old bay seasoning
- 1 tablespoon garlic minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- salt and pepper to taste
place 1-1½ lbs sausage links, ⅔ cup barley, 1 10 oz can diced tomatoes with green chilies, 1 tablespoon old bay seasoning, 1 tablespoon garlic, 2 cups chicken broth into greased slow cooker and stir to combine
add in as much cabbage as you can, taking care to make sure the lid fits securely onto the pot
cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-9 hours
add salt and pepper to taste, if needed.
NOTEs: the cabbage will shrink down tremendously while cooking.
If you like, you can brown the sausage prior to adding it to the slow cooker.
